Wayne Wesolowski, Ph.D. has been building transportation and historical models for more than forty years. His work has been exhibited at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, the Springfield, IL Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, the West Chicago City Museum, RailAmerica and the National Railroad Museum among many others. Among his favorites are his traveling exhibit of the Abraham Lincoln Funeral Train (sponsor:Chicago Tribune McCormick Foundation)and a variety of miniature machine tools he has created.
Along with his wife, Mary Cay, he has written nearly 150 articles and five books on model building. He stars in two videotapes on model making productions for Kalmbach Publishing and shown nationally on PBS television. Good Morning America selected and showed part of one tape as an example of the new video education. Bob Hundman of Mainline Modeler Magazine said of Wayne, "He's always leading those of us who like scratchbuilding down new roads. He's a very inventive modeler."
Always looking for ways to educate through models Wayne has created teaching exhibits for museums and clients across the country. He has a research Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Arizona and has been a tenured Professor of Chemistry at Benedictine University since 1975. In 2003 he started a slower-paced second career as a Chemical Lecturer for his Alma Mater-- the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ.
